WHAT IS GREEN KEY?

Green Key is a quality label that focuses on sustainability in the tourism and leisure sector. They are present on five continents.

Comfort and affordability are still important, and in this way, locations have a positive impact on the planet and society.

MEASURES TAKEN

Reducing water consumption

  • Our toilets are flushed with rainwater. 

  • Water-saving showers with push buttons have been installed, which use a maximum of 6 litres of water per minute.

  • The aerator in the taps allows 1.8 litres per minute to pass through.

Disposal

  • PMD, cardboard, glass and residual waste are selectively sorted and collected.

  • Materials that are not used are taken to the charity shop. If this is not possible, they are dismantled for the container park.

  • Where possible, plastic is avoided.

Natural Gas

Electricity

  • Sensors ensure that the lights are switched on and off automatically.

  • Almost all lights are LED lights. Soon, all lights will be LED lights.

  • The supplier that provides the electricity supplies 100% green energy.

  • When new appliances are purchased, the domain ensures that they carry the highest eco-label.

  • We generate our own electricity using blue energy generators.

Nutrition

  • We use local products as much as possible.

  • We take our guests' allergies into account. Halal meals can also be served.

  • Thursday is known as our veggie day.

  • When we have leftovers, they are recovered and reused in new dishes.

  • All radiators are equipped with thermostatic valves.

  • Roosendael has high-efficiency boilers, which heat Roosendael in an economical manner.

  • The heating in the visitors' area and the coach house can be controlled remotely.
